GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This 14-acre 152,000 sq. ft. shopping center project is located at the southwest frontage of I-580 and Hopyard Road in the City of Pleasanton, California, and is comprised of a 104,000 square foot Home Depot and garden center, and 48,000 square feet of stores and pads, including Kinkos, Furbelows, Leather Factory and Taco Bell. Construction was completed in 1990.
DISCUSSION
Developed by Reynolds & Brown, and working at the direction of the company principals, Jon Reynolds and David Brown, Daniel Gray was director of leasing, and Peter Reynolds was responsible for construction of the shopping center. The project was built under budget; a fast-track construction schedule was required to meet the store opening date of the Home Depot.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Access to the project required interacting with CalTrans and the Federal Highway Administration, which resulted in the redesign of the I-580/I-680 Freeway interchange and fly-over. A mitigated negative declaration was obtained in connection with the PUD and design review approvals were obtained from the City of Pleasanton.
